Background information

Microdermabrasion is a skin-freshening technique that helps repair facial skin that takes a beating from the sun and the effects of aging. Facial skin resurfacing can be traced to ancient Egyptian times and the application of abrasive masks of alabaster particles. For millennia, various substances have been used to peel, exfoliate, and rejuvenate the skin. These substances include acids, poultices of minerals and plants, and direct irritants such as fire and sandpaper like materials.

This simple, quick and convenient procedure has become very popular with people showing the early signs of aging, sun exposure and other facial imperfections. Non-invasive and non-wounding to the skin’s surface, the procedure entails virtually no discomfort, down time or recovery. clients typically experience some redness for about an hour after the procedure.

In addition to the face, microdermabrasion can be successfully used on the neck, arms and hands. It is also beneficial for clients with darker skin types.

This rejuvenation method is generally indicated for:

• Dull, oily or leathery skin texture

• Exfoliating and suctioning clogged pores in acne cases

What is Vibraderm™ Microdermabrasion?

Vibraderm™ uses “sonic vibration technology”, a state of the art technology that is the rave of the Hollywood elite.

Large areas can be treated evenly with less irritation. The face and neck remain the most popular areas. clients have also had their backs, arms, hands, knees, legs, and thighs treated. Nearly any part of the body can be treated. Rather than using particulates, which are common to other treatments, Vibraderm™ uses a patented, vibrating 30mm by 30mm paddle capable of covering the face neck and décolleté in only ten minutes. The Vibraderm™ paddle is made of surgical grade stainless steel, and has a large surface coated with fixed abrasives.

In clinical studies, 95% of clients preferred Vibraderm™ to other treatments citing no discomfort, minimal downtime and firmer skin tone.

Each person is required to buy his or her own set of paddles (cost $35.00). This ensures that there is no cross contamination, as can be seen by other dermabrasion machines. The treatment feels like a gentle vibration on the skin, and is followed by the application of a vitamin solution to the skin. There is no suction involved, so there is no pain and no formation of unwanted and unsightly blood vessels in the skin.
